The Bush Devil Ate Sam is an important record and a serious story, yet told easily, and with delightful humor. This is one of the most satisfying books I have ever read, because it entertained me thoroughly AND made me feel better informed. —Hilary Custance Green: British Author... Lovely account of Bandon rocks… the rock you named ‘Big Foot’, is known as Howling Dog, from the Face Rock legend where Komax howls from the shoreline to warn his mistress, the Indian princess, Ewauna, of the approaching evil spirit, Seatka. It’s an interesting legend of the Coquille Indian tribe. 🙂
Thanks Caroline for adding that information. Peggy and I love Native America Legends. We have spent a lot of time searching for petroglyphs and the stories that go with them. And, I might add, we love Bandon.
